Established in Charlotte, North Carolina, Sojourners Spiritual Care Institute, LLC exists to cultivate spiritually grounded, culturally responsive, and justice-centered leaders and spiritual caregivers through education, spiritual formation, Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), leadership development, and community engagement.
Our Mission
Sojourners Institute of Spiritual Care, CPE Center is dedicated to fostering a Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) environment that is grounded in Womanist Ethics, and the wisdom of disability justice. The mission is to nurture chaplains who honor embodiment, embrace interdependence, and practice healing as a sacred, justice-centered act.

Our Core Values
Sojourners Spiritual Care Institute was founded upon the conviction that transformative spiritual care education must be academically rigorous, relationally grounded, spiritually authentic, and intentionally accessible.
Womanist Ethics.
The Institute embraces Womanist Ethics as a framework for centering the knowledge and moral agency of marginalized communities through radical subjectivity, traditional communalism, redemptive self-love, and critical engagement with oppression and liberation.
Disability Justice.
The Institute recognizes Disability Justice as foundational to intersectionality, collective access, interdependence, sustainability, collective care, cross-disability solidarity, and the leadership of those most impacted.
Healing Relationships.
Healing and life-affirming transformation emerge within authentic, mutual, and empathetic spiritual care relationships that honor embodiment, interdependence, and the sacred dignity of every person.
